Well... you asked for it.. and here it is:![]()
Per capita donations for the entire country. Keep in mind, this data is NOT a complete list of all donors. I don't know the total number of donors... But my guess is that I have about 50% and the sampling is "random" for our purposes. It's at least as good as a Gallup poll ;)
I have also broken out each state:![]()
go New Hampshire! (don't worry, there are 49 others)
The url for each state should be fairly obvious, if you seen one, you seen 'em all. But for your convenience, the state codes in the state tables on the donor map page are all links to the appropriate graph. You can also add them to the home page via the "configure layout" check box at the top of the page.
I am not adding all 51 of them to the directory page... because that would be silly.
Some other notes...
I have a couple new graphs for specific days, I think they help demonstrate the power of certain events on fundraising. I'm starting with some of the campaign fundraising emails. ![]()
![]()
Look at those suckers go!
I have added a new text table, like the one normally in the upper left corner of the front page, of some interesting averages... like average raised per week, day, hour and minute... as well as average numbers required to get to the $12 million from where we currently are. Again, accessible via the "configure layout" checkbox.. look for "Stat Table - averages".
I was also on this internet radio show... Talking on the phone, especially to an interviewer, isn't really my thing. I was nervous as hell... hopefully I only spazed out a couple times. I can't listen to it myself, but you can if you want...
There might be some other stuff I forgot... like.... what a great Monday! Wow. Biggest Day Of The Quarter!

Curious - 10 donors per million people in NH? That would only be 12 people state-wide. Now that just doesn't sound right! :O)
JM
@JM - the data points are per day. so each day is an additional [however many the y axis says]... the blue line is a regression which basically shows the trend.
Does that help?
Great job. Could you add a graph showing the growth rate of the donations?
@anon2 - That's kinda what the blue line represents. The steeper the angle higher the growth... I could plot that over time... I'll see if that looks interesting. thanks!
Actually I meant for overall donations, not just NH. Growth rate is (Today - Yesterday) / Yesterday, so you would have percentage on the vertical axis and time on the horizontal. (Weekly growth might be better than daily, though).
Post your sweet interview.

Good job suckerpants.
See like the graphs should be the other way around.
@anon3 - gotchya... I think that would be a little boring right now, but I'll see how it looks when we have another week of data or so. Thanks!
@MK - thanks! But the blog post you are commenting on has a link to that show :)
@anon4 - the other way around what?
Just listened to the interview and it was good. You should go ahead and listen to it.
You did well on your interview. I enjoyed listening to it.
Hey your google ads are showing links to John McCain :) If you have any filter space left in your adsense (and you want to keep a big promo for John McCain off of your graph site ;) ) You can add this domain [johnmccain.com] to your filtered domains on adsense and it ought to take it off...
Great job on the graphs
Those 'special date graphs' are definitely important... but they need some rubric for comparison... Would you consider adding a graph of that day's average donations (or simply the last [tuesday's] or [wednesday's] donations... otherwise the sharp increases look impressive but have little analytical value. Thanks for the ongoing, very neat, consistently well done and continually improving work...

I think the Huckabee vs. Paul donation graph overstates the Huckabee results. The official Huckabee site as of 1:30PM (ET) states:
"Our original goal was $200,000!
Supporters like you surpassed that goal and have now raised:
$350,165.72"
Hi Dan,
I just came across your site a couple of days ago. Thanks for all this great work!
Your interview was good. Karen Kwiatkowski is a really great American, if you Google her.
Thanks again!
@tex - thanks! but I'll pass :)
@bdp - thanks!
@john - I think I fixed it, thanks for the tip!
@3goodguys - yeah, I've been thinking about adding an "average day line" or something. thanks!
@francisco - see update #3 on the huckabee graph post.
@anon5 - thanks! it was great talking to Karen, she's very nice!
Chowda,
I thought you said they added total donors back to the feed?
