Alive And Kicking

I hope every one had a great Christmas or Whatever. I've been home for a couple days... plugging away... researching some technologies to incorporate into my graph making software... there's always something to tweak.

There have been a few questions about the number of donations vs. donors vs. new donors... the numbers always seem a little weird.. I agree.. for instance:

total donations today: 176
donors today: 127
new donors today: 126

Only one repeat donor? But 50 people are donating twice? this is just what the numbers in the feed tell me... I subtract the number of donors/new donors/donations at 12am in the morning from the number right now... and those are the numbers that shake loose.

I have a couple emails out trying to find out if there's a problem, or if this is just the way things really are. When I know, so will you.

Just as an experiment I've added a chat widget thing... we'll see if it's interesting to anyone :) let me know what you think... would forums be better? or nothing at all?

I think I have answered all the email I got while I was out.. If you didn't get a response from me and you expected one, please resend... I might have forgotten to mark a couple for followup or deleted something by mistake.. there were many to review!

UPDATE: new poll in the side bar

Dan, I haven't voted in the new poll yet, but there's a bit of a poll-viewing-problem: When I click to see the results, the number of responses per answer and the corresponding percentages are in white. The problem is, if the results for an item are small (as is presently the case for most poll choices right now), there is very little blue field (background) for the white letters to show up on, and I can't read the results!

I haven't changed my system colors to anything bizarre--that I know of anyway. I'm using Firefox 2.x on Windows XP (service pack 2).

Hope this makes sense.

how about now?

I have very little control over the style of that widget... just the background color...

Looks good!

I'll be picky and ask that the blue text for the "Show results" be another color though.

Thanks.

That's the best I can do.. I can't change any of the text colors... blogger wont let me.. just changing the background color is a bit of a hack.. sorry

Thanks Dan.

You do a great job with both the large and the small features of your sites.
